Steak, Caramelised Onions & Spring Onion Cheese Baguette

Lets hope we get a barbeque season because we are excited to share this terrific looking steak baguette. It tastes as good as it looks! The steak baguette is super easy to make and requires very little effort. If you love barbeque food and want to change it up from the traditional burger and sausage, this is the recipe for you!


  • 2 ribeye steaks
  • 1 baguette or ciabatta
  • 2 onions (chopped) (caramelise)
  • Cahill’s spring onion cheese (grated)
  • Garlic granules
  • Lily peppers
  • Double oak smoked chilli sauce
  • Butter
  • Tbsp Olive oil


  1. Heat your barbeque up for a couple of minutes.
  2. When heated add the 2 ribeye steaks (recommend cooking on lumpwood for extra flavour)
  3. Cook the ribeye steaks to medium rare or whatever way you like your steak
  4. Heat up a frying pan adding 1tbsp of olive oil
  5. Add the chopped onions and fry until caramelised
  6. Cut your baguette in two and butter
  7. When steaks are ready put on plate and keep warm
  8. Drizzle olive oil over the baguette
  9. Spread the baguette with caramelised onions
  10. Place the steaks on top of the onions
  11. Add soften lily peppers with the steaks
  12. Grate how ever much cheese you want on your sandwich
  13. Put until the grill until well melted and baguette is crispy
  14. Join the two baguettes together
  15. Serve with fries and salad
  16. Enjoy!
